Information we collect
We collect three categories of information from people who visit homeorganizerdc.com or hire us for a project.
- Contact information you give us when you fill in a form, send an email, or call us. This typically includes name, phone number, email, ZIP code, and a short description of your project.
- Project information we collect during scoping or on project day, such as room measurements, photos you send us or that we take with your permission, and notes about scope. We do not photograph or document items of unusual value (jewelry, art, financial documents) unless you specifically ask us to.
- Website analytics automatically gathered by industry-standard tools when you visit the site. This includes anonymized IP, browser type, pages viewed, referring URL, and how long you stayed.
How we use it
We use the information to do the work you hired us for, to reply to inquiries, to send written estimates and invoices, to schedule projects, and to improve the website. We do not sell your information to third parties. We do not use it for unrelated marketing or share it with advertisers.
Cookies and tracking
The site uses a small number of cookies and similar technologies. None of them are advertising cookies. They fall into three buckets:
- Essential cookies required for the site to function (the contact form, the call-tracking phone swap).
- Analytics cookies set by Google Analytics 4 (page views, sessions, traffic source) and Microsoft Clarity (anonymized session replay used to spot broken pages and confusing layouts). Both are configured for IP anonymization.
- Performance cookies set by Vercel, our hosting platform, to balance traffic and measure load time.
You can disable cookies in your browser settings. The site will still work, but the contact form may take an extra second to confirm submission.
Third-party services we use
We share narrowly defined information with the following providers, each under their own privacy policies:
- SignalWire — provides our tracked phone numbers. SignalWire records call metadata (number called, duration, time). We use the metadata to attribute leads to ad campaigns. Call audio is not recorded by default; if a specific call is recorded for training, we tell you at the start of the call.
- Vercel — hosts the website. Standard server logs are retained for 30 days.
- Google Analytics 4 — anonymized site analytics. IP anonymization on.
- Microsoft Clarity — anonymized session replay for usability debugging. Identifiable fields are masked.
- Email and CRM tools — we use industry-standard email and CRM tools to manage inquiries and project files. These vendors do not have permission to use your data for their own marketing.
Data retention
We keep contact form submissions for 24 months after the last interaction. We keep project files (scopes, invoices, photos taken with your permission) for seven years to comply with tax and contracting record-keeping requirements. You can request earlier deletion of project photos at any time and we will delete them within ten business days.
Your rights
If you are a resident of California, the District of Columbia, Maryland, Virginia, or the European Economic Area, you have specific rights under applicable law. Across all jurisdictions, you can:
- Request a copy of the information we hold about you
- Request that we correct inaccurate information
- Request that we delete your information (subject to record-keeping obligations noted above)
- Opt out of any future marketing emails (we send very few)
- Lodge a complaint with the relevant data protection authority
To exercise any of these rights, email hello@homeorganizerdc.com with the subject “Privacy request.” We respond within 30 days.
Children
The site is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has submitted information through the site, please contact us and we will delete it.
Security
We use industry-standard encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest for stored client information. The lead-capture form posts to a server-side endpoint over HTTPS. No system is perfectly secure; we tell you about any material breach within the timeframes required by applicable law.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we post the updated policy here with a new effective date. We'll notify active clients by email if we change something significant about how we handle project files.
